Amy Dignam is a visual artist who works across disciplines including performance, drawing and multimedia.
Her work is autobiographical and explores themes of disrupted domesticity, family, sexuality and the body as well as identity, memories and longing. She is the mother of three children who are the force and inspiration behind all her work.
Italian born Amy moved to London in 1998. Graduating from Central Saint Martins College in 2005 she continued to work in her home studio. She is the founder and curator of the Desperate Artwives project – an arts collective of womxn artists who are also mothers/parents/carers.
Her work has been shown internationally and was recently short listed for the Birth Rites collection.
Amy is also a hypnobirthing teacher, doula in training, Maternity Voices Partnership co-chair for the hospitals of Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex and one of the founding mothers of Maternal Journal.
