Rosie McLachlan

I work with the moorland; collecting wild clay, raw materials for glazes and wood for firing the clay.

Working with ceramics, I have a specific interest in archaeology, phenomenology and animism.

My work explores the ritual and functional nature of clay objects and vessels.

I studied at the Institute of Archaeology and the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL and I have a Master of Fine Art from Newcastle University.

My work has been exhibited internationally in America, France, Italy and Lithuania, and in the UK with organisations such as Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art – Sunderland, Hatton Gallery – Newcastle, The Newbridge Project – Newcastle, Karst – Plymouth, Allenheads Contemporary Arts and Migrating Art Academies.
